SUMMER Insect Bites...WHY ME?

Ouch!
Have you ever wondered why some people are more susceptible to insect bites than others?  I used to get bit by mosquitos all the time. Sometimes my legs would be covered with bites, I hated using spray because of all the chemicals...But i would have to if I wanted to hangout outdoors in the summer. My husband would be in the exact same place as me and he would never have one bite! Whats up with that?

Well... Mosquito's and fleas are attracted to lactic acid. They can sense carbon dioxide and lactic acid up to 100 feet (36 meters) away. People higher in lactic acid typically have diets higher in refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated fats. As you know, this type of diet depletes b-vitamins and trace minerals, which in turn promotes an increase in lactic acid. Since the blood can only handle so much, it uses the skin as a source of elimination and you smell like a treat to those annoying bugs. The antidote - reduce refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated fats and supplement with a B complex high in thiamine.

Other symptoms of B1 deficiencies are an increased anion gap of 14 or over, low CO2, and or elevated blood sugar. People who are on high blood pressure medications and diuretics are almost always low in Thiamin. If someone has low blood pressure, chances are extremely high they are Thiamin deficient.

One of my favorite supplement brands is Biotics Research... (Read there story here)
